Review Day : Pure Beginnings - baby bum cream

Having a baby is hard. Changing a nappy in the wee hours of the morning is hard. But seeing diaper Rash?!? - That's probably the most infuriating thing about a change...ESPECIALLY if you're super diligent with changes!! So, Finding a good Nappy cream is SUPER important.

We've tried quite a few, but since we also have cloth diapers, I wanted to make sure this review was thorough...does it work as well with cloth nappies as it does(or doesn't) with disposables.

The very first thing you need to know about these review blog posts is that they are my honest opinion, and absolutely nothing will change that! 

I ordered the pure beginnings baby bum cream off takealot for 99 BUCKS, which I felt was a great price. Especially with other sites pricing it at R119 or more. (well done, takealot).
Of course, it arrived as takealot's orders usually do. 

The packaging is okay. It doesn't make me excited to use the product BUT that's not the purpose of the product, so I guess that observation is more of a matter of interest. I wouldn't reach for this first on a rack at the shops, though.

The Scent is really great. I have chronic sinus issues, so scent can really be a make or break for me. I absolutely loved it. Definitely not your typical nappy cream scent!

The consistency I found to be exactly right. It was soft, manageable and creamy. I found using a little bit worked well enough..I didn't have to paint baby's entire bum. This was definitely easy to work with, whether baby was fussy or relaxed!

 
DOES IT WORK?????

Disposables: This worked really well for our little girl. I was so happy with the results. I will definitely continue using this product. You can probably tell by the image below, I used it quite a lot already!

Cloth: I'm so nervous to use products with cloth nappies as they're so expensive to replace, but luckily I didn't need to in this case. It worked well with the cloth,and didn't stain or damage the nappy in any way. Again, I didn't have problems with nappy rash when using this on AJ!

Diaper / Nappy Hacks I wish I'd known sooner!

Ever experience a blowout and wonder if there was anything you could've done to prevent it?!? Or just needed a few tips?  Here are some tips and tricks I learnt in my disposable rocket-ship-blowout journey: 1. Diaper /nappy quality will not protect you. Yes, I know, you want tye best of the best on your baby's bottom. Guess what! Baby might be allergic, or hate the feel.... There is no way of knowing ahead of time. Either way, blowouts happen with the most expensive diapers/Nappies too! 2. A new diaper/nappy means no blowout. If baby's stomach decides its time to shine, there is no way to ensure that a blowout doesn't happen. Not even a clean, dry nappy can 100% guarantee it! 3. There are flappy things!! There are TWO flaps on either side of the diaper/nappy (where the legs go). The inner flap holds the poop/pee, and the outer flap protects from leakage. MAKE SURE BOTH FLAPS ARE OUT AND FLARED! 4. Vaseline might work better than rash cream.  Yes, I know, it sounds ridic...
